Secret Sauce: Finding, Hiring, Retaining a Winning Team

When it comes to finding, hiring and managing employees, Dawn Sizer, CEO of 3rd Element, combines industry best-practices with her own unique twist.

Dawn Sizer, CEO of 3rd Element Consulting, learned a lot about how not to manage people in the years preceding the launch of 3rd Element with her husband. As the 3rd Element story goes, the company “was created by two dedicated IT professionals who were tired of the status quo of other IT companies. Their vision was to create a place that didn’t discriminate and could accommodate employees of different backgrounds and abilities. So, they did it.”

Each day, Sizer and company strive to exceed the expectations of their clients by forming long term relationships built on honesty, integrity and fun. “Our team makes what’s important to our customers, important to us,” she explains. “That understanding helps embrace and drive change, making customers leaders in their spaces.”

Of course, many technology solution providers proclaim their people to be the reason for success. But finding the right people, and putting them in a position to succeed requires good leadership, planning and execution.

On this episode of the Secret Sauce, Sizer shares details concerning how her company successfully finds, interviews, onboards, and maintains employees to create a winning culture and successful business.
